Once a month we hold free and low cost clinics in different areas of the Coastal Bend to help people in our community keep their pets happy and healthy. These clinics include rabies vaccines, dog and cat boosters, microchips, deworming, spay and neuter, heart worm tests, and heart worm prevention.
Pet therapy is about bringing shelter pets and people closer together. Whether it's providing nursing homes with some puppy love or giving your staff a much needed break to pet some pups, pet therapy does it all. The best part is not only are the pets all adoptable but they get a much needed break from a shelter environment. If you would like to bring our dogs to your business please contact
Read and Rollover
Shelter pets help kids learn to read with our Read and Rollover program. Our shelter dogs offer a non judgmental environment and lend an ear to those who may have a hard time reading out loud in class in front of their peers. Customizable to the schools participating, we can accommodate up to 5 kids per dog for up to a 2 hour period. All dogs participating are behavior tested and we require all students participating have permission slips signed by parents or guardians.

Community Support Volunteer Team
Our volunteer team doesn't just stop at helping GCHS. Once a month we plan a community support day where a group of our volunteers help out another organization in need. We like to extend a helping hand to other animal organizations but any organization can sign up! If you need our help, please contact Volunteer@gchscc.org. If you would like to become a GCHS volunteer please visit out volunteer webpage.
