We offer various programs diving into the life of a shelter pet and shelter worker.

Help us Home

9th-12th

The objective of Help us Home is for students to participate in helping shelter pets find a home. The humane educator will guide students through a project that will be utilized at the shelter. Through this program, students will play a part in helping animals find their furever home! 

The Rescue

9th-12th

The objective of The Rescue is for students to examine and investigate animal cruelty cases. The humane educator will guide the students through a real investigation and teach them ways of how to prevent animal cruelty. Through this program, students will discover the importance of animal cruelty prevention and how to be advocates for our furry friends.

Adoption Matters

Guest Dog | 9th-12th

The objective of Adoption Matters is to educate students about how animal shelters make a difference. The humane educator will share real stories of how Gulf Coast Humane Society has changed the lives of shelter pets. Through this program, students will gain a sense of empathy for shelter pets and learn about the significance of animal shelters in the coastal bend.

The Inside Scoop

2 hours

The objective of The Inside Scoop is to give students a behind the scenes look at our shelter and how we run things. Students will be given an opportunity to put themselves in the shoes of our workers as well as our pets. Through this program, students will be able to meet real shelter animals, receive an exclusive tour, and participate in some community service.
